Job Summary

Milestone Infrastructure is seeking a skilled Communications and Engagement Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Oxfordshire Highways contract, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage with stakeholders, including the client, local Councillors, and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an engagement and communications plan for the Oxfordshire contract to ensure timely and effective engagement with stakeholders.
  • Promote and raise awareness of the great work delivered by the Highways Partnership, working alongside Oxfordshire County Council engagement and communications colleagues.
  • Lead on all internal and external Oxfordshire contract engagement and communications, working alongside colleagues across Milestone.
  • Work with delivery teams to develop individual scheme, cyclical, and maintenance communication plans to keep stakeholders informed of upcoming network activities and potential disruption.
  • Receive, record, and respond to feedback from members of the public and other stakeholders relating to our network activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and report writing and presentation – to ensure clarity in all situations and effectively influence decision making.
  • Exceptional organisational skills – forward thinking – capable of thinking ahead and planning for the future.
  • An understanding of contemporary issues within highway maintenance would be desirable.
  • Comfortable with dealing directly with local Councillors, media, and members of the public.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • A high level of emotional and social intelligence.
  • Computer literacy with media channels, O365 packages, and PowerBi.
