Teaching Opportunities with Lancashire County Council

Lancashire County Council, through the Lancashire Teaching Agency, is recruiting Early Career Teachers to work in the Burnley area. As a Trainee teacher nearing the end of your training, you may be actively applying for positions. However, what options are available if you don't secure your desired position immediately? One such option is to register with the Lancashire Teaching Agency.

The agency, operated by Lancashire LA, Reed Education, and the Lancashire Professional Development Service (LPDS), provides employment opportunities in Lancashire schools for ECTs. These opportunities often lead to contractual employment. We support schools with their recruitment for permanent, fixed-term, and long-term supply cover roles.

The benefits of the service to ECTs include:

  • A structured programme of Continuous Professional Development linked to individual needs.
  • Payment in accordance with the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document and access to the Teacher's Pension scheme for long-term positions.
  • Job search skills and career planning to enable teachers to move into contractual employment.
  • A personal Consultant who will work closely with you to better understand your employment requirements.
  • No registration fees.

Reed Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check.
