Job Description

At WSP UK, we are seeking an experienced Transport Planning Director to join our team. As a key member of our Transport Planning Service Line, you will be responsible for leading business development efforts and growing our Public Sector market share in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy to win substantial work and grow our Public Sector market share in Scotland.
  • Lead project teams in the delivery of a varied portfolio of Transport Planning work, and collaborate with colleagues in other service lines to deliver large multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Take commercial responsibility for our local frameworks and focus business development activity on defined priorities within the Public Sector market beyond our current core client base in Scotland.
  • Support the delivery of our Transport Strategy for the North of the UK, both technically and pastorally.
  • Lead and encourage professional development through mentoring team members and training.

Requirements:

  • A proven ability to public sector win work and grow a transport planning offer in Scotland.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of delivering multi-disciplinary projects in the UK, particularly for local authority clients.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Proven experience of managing significant contracts.
  • Knowledge of current Scotland transport policy.
  • Experience of negotiating with a range of stakeholders through the application of strong communication and collaboration skills.
