Job Description

At WSP UK, we are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Transport Planning Service Line in Scotland and nationally. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development in the public sector market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow our public sector market share in Scotland, working closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Lead and manage a team of transport professionals to deliver a varied portfolio of projects, ensuring excellent client satisfaction and business growth.
  • Take commercial responsibility for our local frameworks and focus business development activity on defined priorities within the public sector market.
  • Support the delivery of our Transport Strategy for the North of the UK, working closely with colleagues in other service lines to deliver large multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Lead and encourage professional development through mentoring team members and training.

Requirements:

  • A proven ability to public sector win work and grow a transport planning offer in Scotland.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of delivering multi-disciplinary projects in the UK, particularly for local authority clients.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Proven experience of managing significant contracts.
  • Knowledge of current Scotland transport policy.
  • Experience of negotiating with a range of stakeholders through the application of strong communication and collaboration skills.
