We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Construction Project Engineer to join our team at Sellafield in West Cumbria.

About the Role

  1. As a Mechanical Construction Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of mechanical plant and equipment installation, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of equipment and materials to site.
  2. You will process isometrics and drawings in accordance with project requirements and issue construction packages to installation supervisors, including approved RAMS, permits, and lifting plans.
  3. You will support the development of lookaheads based on the programme and milestones.
  4. You will coordinate plant and equipment installation, including sub-contract activities, and ensure all scaffolding and tools are readily available.
  5. You will review and report weekly progress against the programme with the M, E & I Installation Manager.

Key Requirements

  1. Experience of fulfilling a mechanical engineering role on construction projects.
  2. Previous experience of project delivery on a nuclear licensed site.
  3. Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, (minimum HNC).
  4. Good knowledge of Mech Engineering practices and ability to follow drawings and specifications.
  5. IOSH Managing Safely.
  6. Holder of a valid competency card.
  7. Proven ability to manage a small team of supervisors and blue-collar ops and sub-contractors.
  8. Experience of Sellafield procedures an advantage.
  9. Previous experience of working with Shield Doors, Gamma gates, and Kuka robot equipment an advantage.
  10. Previous experience working on the installation of bogey & rail systems in a nuclear environment an advantage.
  11. Previous experience of working with and on EOTC Cranes an advantage.
  12. Design Tools/Software: Relevant Microsoft Office packages.

Security Clearance will be required for this role. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance, if not already held. This includes British Citizenship and not having worked outside the UK for the past 5 years.
