Make a Difference in Residential Childcare
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated care professional to join our support team as a Deputy Manager at our Children's Home in the North West of England.
In this role, you will support and care for our young people and be responsible for a small staff team. Our benefits include exclusive access to a reward and discount scheme, comprehensive induction, commitment to your ongoing training and career progression, pension scheme, paid for enhanced DBS, wellbeing support, cycle to work scheme and more.
As part of Aspris Children's Services, we are proud of the career pathway and training we can offer. We ask that you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills, and life experience, and in return, we will give you all the training and support you need to progress.
A Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People is essential for this role, and you should be willing to study towards the Level 5 Diploma. The ideal candidate will have experience and the following characteristics to be successful in this role:
- Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties, so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
- Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs, and positive working relationships, good teamwork, and communication play a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
- Organisation – Overseeing the effective implementation of care and independence programmes for our young people through the effective line management of the staff team and managing shift patterns on a rota basis.
- Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer, and if you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
- Attentive – No young person is the same, so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and all applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years.
