Coventry, United Kingdom Coventry University Full time

Coventry University is a global education group committed to creating better futures. We are seeking a skilled Student Mental Health Advisor to join our Student Wellbeing Team in London.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload, providing support on a one-to-one basis to students experiencing mental health difficulties or dual diagnosis of learning difficulties/mental health with associated behavioural issues.

You will be the first point of contact for students presenting with moderate to acute mental health issues and provide initial assessments, practical assistance, signposting, and advice.

Responsibilities include making referrals to external specialist services as required, responding to crisis situations, and collaborating with staff across the group to implement crisis intervention procedures.

In addition, you will contribute to the development and delivery of workshops/group sessions on student mental health and work with Welfare and Wellbeing and Disability Support teams to ensure students can access suitable support and funding.

To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in an appropriate discipline such as Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Health, Psychology, or Counselling.

Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team, clinical capacity within a mental health setting, and managing sensitive situations are essential.

A willingness to work in a flexible capacity is required to satisfy the unpredictable demands of the service.

We offer a competitive salary range from £37,631 to £42,943 (dependent upon experience) + London Allowance, 30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, and an industry-leading Rewards and Benefits package.
