Adult Safeguarding Team Member

We are seeking an Experienced Social Services Professional to join our adult safeguarding team in Swindon on a permanent full-time basis.

The estimated salary for this role is £45,495 per annum.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the social care database, adhering to work targets and guidelines.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and service about universal services, including those provided by the voluntary and community sector, Department-commissioned services, and contracted services.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues in meeting legal and procedural requirements.
  • Identify adults who may be at risk and take necessary actions according to the Department's safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Lead investigations and make recommendations for Adult Protection Plans, including Section 42 (Care Act) enquiries and multi-agency working.
  • Ensure adherence to council corporate and departmental policies and procedures at all times.
  • Engage in active supervision and appraisal through self-evaluation, ensuring ongoing professional development is evident.
  • Deliver statutory support to adults with care and support needs, their carers, and families, which includes providing information, advice, assessment, support planning, and safeguarding.
  • Liaise with partners, including primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare providers, as well as voluntary sector organizations.
  • Recognize, monitor, and assess risk when working with families, escalating relevant information to managers in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent is required.
