Job Summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Cardiology Interventional Fellow. This is a 12-month opportunity for a trainee to gain comprehensive training in advanced intervention, with the possibility of training in both coronary and structural intervention.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of experienced interventional cardiologists, participating in 4-6 laboratory sessions per week and 1 outpatient clinic per week. The fellow will be expected to develop skills in complex cardiac interventions, including coronary and structural interventions, and will have the opportunity to join the registrar on-call rota.

This is an exciting opportunity for a trainee to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume comprehensive service, with access to state-of-the-art non-invasive imaging facilities and a well-developed structural intervention service. Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • GMC registration
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Evidence of higher specialist training in cardiology
  • Clear, fluent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Experience in medical audit and research
