Job Summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Cardiology Interventional Fellow. This is a 12-month position with the possibility of extension, subject to satisfactory performance and review.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in comprehensive training in advanced intervention, with the possibility of training in both coronary and structural intervention. The Fellow will be expected to work under the direct supervision of experienced interventional cardiologists and will have the opportunity to gain broad exposure to a variety of complex cardiac interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in 1 outpatient session per week within the Cardiology service
  • Attend a minimum of 4/5 laboratory sessions per week to receive training in cardiac intervention
  • Work under the direct supervision of experienced interventional cardiologists
  • Have the opportunity to participate in research and audit activities
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • GMC registration
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of higher specialist training in Cardiology
  • Clear, fluent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Experience in medical audit
  • Understanding of the place of research
