Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician to deliver high-quality care for Cardiology patients under the care of University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust while specializing in structural cardiology.

About the Role

The purpose of this post is to offer comprehensive training in structural cardiac interventions with a primary emphasis on TAVI, as well as other interventions and stroke prevention therapies. The appointee will be part of the Structural Heart Team and will have opportunities to participate in focused structural research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct supervision of Consultant cardiologists to gain exposure to complex cardiac interventions.
  • Undertake procedures in the lab, with a minimum of 4-6 sessions per week.
  • Attend regular weekly meetings and monthly MDT meetings to discuss patient management.
  • Participate in teaching and research activities, as well as contribute to the development of the structural intervention service.
Person Specification

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • GMC registration.
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of Higher Specialist Training in Cardiology.
  • Advanced Life Support Training.

Desirable

  • Higher degree (MD/PhD).
  • Experience of training and competency in interventional/structural Cardiology.
