Job Summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Cardiology Interventional Fellow. This is a 12-month fellowship program that offers comprehensive training in advanced intervention, with the possibility of training in both coronary and structural intervention for suitably qualified candidates.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of interventional cardiologists and will be expected to participate in 1 outpatient session per week within the Cardiology service. Attendance at a minimum of 4/5 laboratory sessions a week is anticipated, where training will be given in cardiac intervention. The fellow will also participate fully in the training program of the department and will have protected time for teaching, research, and audit.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiology and will have completed core training (at least 3 years of General Cardiology). They will also have some experience in interventional cardiology and will be able to demonstrate clear, fluent written and verbal presentation skills. Experience in medical audit and research is also essential.
