Job Title: Specialist Registrar, Cardiology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Registrar in Cardiology to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of interventional cardiologists and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The post will offer comprehensive training in advanced intervention, with the possibility of training in both coronary and structural intervention for suitably qualified candidates. The Fellow will be expected to participate in 1 outpatient session per week within the Cardiology service and attend a minimum of 4/5 laboratory sessions a week, where training will be given in cardiac intervention.

Main Duties:
  • Work under the direct supervision of interventional cardiologists to gain broad exposure to a variety of complex cardiac interventions.
  • Undertake procedures in the lab (4-6 sessions per week) and participate in the care of in-patients as needed.
  • Attend outpatient clinics and participate in the on-call rota (optional).
Person Specification:
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • GMC registration.
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of higher specialist training in Cardiology.
  • Clear, fluent written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Experience in medical audit and research.
