Nephrology Expert for Service Transformation

Job Summary: Kings College Hospital is seeking a highly skilled consultant nephrologist to lead the transformation of our CKD and general nephrology outpatient services. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients, supervise junior medical practitioners, and take an active role in implementing the Care Group's Business Plan.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional patient care services in haemodialysis and CKD/general nephrology clinics at Denmark Hill and QEH sites.
  • Share responsibility with colleagues for 24/7 cover of the Unit on a rota basis.
  • Provide clinical supervision to junior medical/dental practitioners.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service transformation projects.
  • Maintain awareness of and comply with Trust infection prevention and control policies.

Requirements: To excel in this role, you will require wide experience in all aspects of Renal Medicine, with a proven track record in day-to-day organisation of Renal services in a busy Teaching Hospital. Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills is also essential. You should be aware of the current structure of the UK National Health Service.

Leadership and Skills: A key aspect of this role is demonstrating leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams. Ideally, you will possess a management course and/or qualification.

Research and Teaching: We are looking for someone with experience of clinical research and undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and exam preparation.

Salary Information: This is a substantive consultant position, offering a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, private health insurance, and annual leave entitlement.
