About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Nephrologist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a leading teaching trust, we provide high-quality care services to patients and foster a culture of excellence and innovation.

This is a substantive consultant nephrologist post with a predominant focus on haemodialysis and CKD/general nephrology. The post includes general nephrology clinics at Denmark Hill and QEH sites. You will be part of our haemodialysis team leading the medical care of a cohort of haemodialysis patients at the Thamesmead HD unit.

The successful candidate will have a wide experience in all aspects of Renal Medicine, culminating in award of Certificate of Completion of Training by GMC, or award of Certificate of Eligibility for Specialty Registration (CESR) by GMC. A strong leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams, as well as management course and/or qualification, is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide a high quality care service to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  2. Share responsibility with other colleagues for providing 24 hours, 7 days a week cover for the Unit on a rota basis.
  3. Provide clinical supervision of junior medical/dental practitioners as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.
  4. Take an active role in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Care Group's Business Plan.
Working Conditions

The post will be primarily based at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill site, with off mainsite clinical activities at the Thamesmead Dialysis Unit and Queen Elizabeth Hospital renal clinic (Woolwich).

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary for this position is between £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, including London Zone Allowance. Requirements
  • Degree of Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training by GMC, or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialty Registration (CESR) by GMC
  • Management course and/or qualification
  • Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills
