Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust in Ipswich, UK. As a Critical Care Pharmacy Expert, you will play a key role in developing and progressing the clinical pharmacy service within Critical Care and Theatres and Nutrition Services.

You will work closely with the Senior Clinical Pharmacist - Critical Care Services to provide ongoing clinical support and guidance to pharmacy colleagues and the multidisciplinary team.

The trust has implemented EPIC electronic patient record system which includes electronic prescribing and administration and pharmacy stock control system replacement.

Main Duties
  • Provide advanced level clinical pharmacy service to Critical Care patients in line with pharmacy Key Performance Indicators and agreed clinical standards.
  • Support Senior Clinical Pharmacist - Critical Care Services and provide ongoing clinical support and guidance to pharmacy colleagues and multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification
  • GPhC registered
  • Medicines Reconciliation trained
  • Regional Accredited Checking Technician qualification
  • B-Tech in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
  • Certificate in Medicines Management (desirable)
  • Patient Consultation Skills (desirable)
Experience
  • Previous extensive hospital experience inclusive of Clinical Pharmacy practice
  • Demonstrated experience of multi-disciplinary working at ward/clinical level and handling of high risk medicines
  • Previous experience of educating and training other staff
  • Previous experience of working specifically with Critical Care patients (desirable)
Salary:

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience
