Job Opportunity: Retail Business Lead at Barnardo's

We are seeking an experienced Retail Business Lead to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our retail leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our Birley Road store in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills and make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have proven experience in retail management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for managing a team of colleagues, implementing promotions and marketing initiatives, maintaining high standards of customer service and store presentation, and ensuring accurate stock management and control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the Birley Road store
  • Lead a team of colleagues to achieve sales and profit targets
  • Implement promotions and marketing initiatives
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and store presentation
  • Ensure accurate stock management and control
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support store objectives
  • Ensure compliance with financial, cash handling, and security procedures

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail management or a similar field
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Basic IT skills and ability to learn new systems

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
