We are seeking an experienced Retail Business Development Lead to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our retail leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, leading a high-performing team, and developing strategic plans to achieve sales and profitability goals.

About the Role:

The Retail Business Development Lead will be accountable for creating a positive and productive work environment that aligns with our company's mission and values. You will lead, manage, and continuously develop all aspects of your store's business, ensuring consistent achievement of sales, operational, merchandising standards, and developing a highly successful Sales, Operations, and Visual team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute retail strategies to enhance customer experience, employee performance, and community connectivity, increasing brand awareness and driving foot traffic into the store.
  • Local market knowledge of clientele base and competitors, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Strong business acumen through KPI analysis to develop and support business-driving strategies.
  • Lead team by leveraging company tools, incentives, and strategies to meet sales goals.
  • Identify and communicate individual and team training needs, ensuring seamless execution of sales objectives.
  • Impact fitting room conversion to ensure excellent client service, product accessibility, and sales accuracy.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, ongoing training, and talent development for existing staff members.
  • Ensure the Sales & Operations team exudes Alo's mission and values, effectively communicating to visitors who we are, what we do, and why.
  • Consistently drive and motivate the store team, utilizing company performance tools to evaluate, achieve, and exceed individual sales goals and store KPIs.
  • Establish individual development plans to support professional growth aspirations and talent needs at Alo.
  • Use company performance tools to evaluate management team and provide constant feedback to drive individual growth and improvement.
  • Monitor and address performance issues on a timely basis, conducting ongoing talent analysis and establishing career progression plans for key players and positions.
  • Actively fill open positions, prioritizing internal colleagues in Customer Experience, Commission, and high-level selling areas.
  • Interview, Hire, Train, Direct, Manage, Coach, Develop, Coordinate, Evaluate, and discipline direct and indirect reports, establishing strategy for work and providing insight and decision support.
  • Utilize check-in process as a tool for colleague talent development, promotion, and advancement.
  • Ensure all staff members adhere to wardrobe standards and represent the Alo brand.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience within retail or related industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience managing and leading a team.
  • Dynamic interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Extraordinary guest experience, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Agile ability to handle multiple tasks in a changing environment.
  • Highly motivated by driving business in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Business owner mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Independent work ethic, time management skills, and personal accountability.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: UK.
