Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Livestock Assistant to join our team at Pawsitive Rescue. As a key member of our farm operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock.

Responsibilities
  • Animal Husbandry: Conduct daily checks and feeding of farm park livestock, ensuring proper care and attention to their needs.
  • Health and Wellness: Identify and address health issues in livestock, seeking assistance when necessary and maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine animal husbandry tasks such as foot care, worming, vaccinations, and crutching, as well as maintain cleanliness of animal housing and equipment.
  • Farm Operations: Assist with feeding operations, manage equipment and stock availability, and maintain and service farm machinery and tools.
Requirements
  • Essential Skills: Animal husbandry skills, including catching, health checking, and administering tasks such as foot care and medicine/injections.
  • Maintenance Experience: Maintenance experience including fencing, property repairs, and alkythene plumbing.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position with a 6-day working week, 5 hours per day, including weekends on a rota basis. Additional overtime hours may be required during busy periods.

The role involves physical work in an outdoor environment, covering a large area on foot, and requires regular manual handling.
