Job Title: Vulnerable Young People Advocate
Location: Southwark Borough
Salary: £28,412 - £34,502 (based on 5 hours per week)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Vulnerable Young People Advocate to join our team at TimePlan Education. As a part-time Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will be responsible for promoting the welfare and well-being of vulnerable young people in our Pupil Referral Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring all policies and procedures are rigorously implemented.
- Safeguarding Support: Provide expert advice and training to staff on identifying and managing child protection issues.
- Collaboration with External Agencies: Work closely with social care, health, and police services to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with pupils, families, and staff to create a safe and inclusive environment.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience: Proven experience in safeguarding and child protection, preferably in an educational or alternative provision setting.
- Empathy and Resilience: Demonstrate empathy and resilience when working with vulnerable young people.
- Relationship Building: Showcase your ability to build strong relationships with multi-agency teams.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with statutory safeguarding frameworks and best practices.
