This is an exciting opportunity to join AESC UK's Information Services department, based at our Sunderland-based manufacturing facilities. Our team manages all aspects of the IT infrastructure and information systems required to support our UK operations, including our expansion into our new Sunderland-based Gigafactory.
As a Network Infrastructure Specialist, you will participate in network-related projects and changes, planning, installing, configuring, and commissioning new network architecture, infrastructure, and solutions in conjunction with our network architect. You will also support the Operations team in network-related incident and problem management, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing counter-measures. Additionally, you will support the network architect and the wider IS team in managing network security within our company's enterprise, manufacturing, and datacentre networks. You will maintain and promote network-related policies, processes, procedures, and documentation, working closely with team colleagues, UK business departments, contacts within other regional plants, and the Global-IS function. You will also provide regular, network-related reporting to both IS and business management.
Key responsibilities include participating in IT network-related projects, changes, and planning activities, using network management access tools, ideally Cisco Identity Services Engine. You will also demonstrate IT skills with relevant experience of supporting network and network management services and infrastructure in a manufacturing environment. Some specific areas of interest or expertise include Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies, cyber-security, hardware infrastructure, or routing protocols. You will have working-level knowledge of Cisco ACI Datacentre, Cisco DNAC, and Cisco Wi-Fi, as well as an understanding of vSphere virtual switches. A relevant IT degree is also required.
Flexibility to travel occasionally is a must.
