The University of Manchester's IT Services department is a dynamic and customer-focused team, dedicated to delivering high-quality services to staff, students, and researchers.

The Hardware Asset Management team plays a critical role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of hardware assets, from procurement to disposal/recycling. This includes storage, distribution, movement, and maintenance of assets.

The Hardware Asset Management - Recycling Assistant position is a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Hardware Asset Management function. The post holder will be responsible for collecting and testing refurbished IT equipment, deploying devices such as laptops and desktops, and updating the Asset Database as equipment is returned or deployed.

The Recycling Assistant role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. The post holder will be expected to follow established procedures and guidelines, with supervision as needed.

The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of IT equipment and installations, as well as the physical capability to frequently move large items of IT equipment. Accurate record keeping and the ability to follow instructions are also essential skills for this role.
