Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Abuse Surveillance Specialist to join our team at the Financial Conduct Authority. As a key member of our Secondary Market Oversight Department, you will play a critical role in combating market abuse in secondary markets and monitoring markets to protect market integrity.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our operation, supervising firms' and trading venues' market abuse surveillance. You will be responsible for leading visits to firms, trading venues, and other market participants to assess their market abuse surveillance arrangements and STOR policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the STOR regime, including leading visits to firms, trading venues, and other market participants
  • Work with other FCA teams on the assessment of new trading venues and benchmark applications
  • Analyse the output of internal surveillance to identify activity that may indicate market abuse
  • Contribute to the development of internal market abuse surveillance systems, processes, and procedures
  • Liaise with industry participants, including delivering formal presentations and written communications
