Job Title: Senior Supervisor - Market Abuse Surveillance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Supervisor to join our Market Abuse Surveillance team at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). As a Senior Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that firms and trading venues have effective systems and controls in place to detect and prevent market abuse.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of UK financial markets and instruments, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. You will be responsible for supervising the Secondary Market Oversight Department's market abuse surveillance activities, including leading visits to firms and trading venues to assess their market abuse surveillance arrangements.

You will also work closely with other FCA teams to assess new trading venues and benchmark applications, and contribute to the development of internal market abuse surveillance systems, processes, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the STOR regime, including leading visits to firms and trading venues to assess their market abuse surveillance arrangements
  • Work with other FCA teams to assess new trading venues and benchmark applications
  • Analyse the output of internal surveillance to identify activity that may indicate market abuse
  • Contribute to the development of internal market abuse surveillance systems, processes, and procedures
  • Liaise with industry participants, including delivering formal presentations and written communications
