About the Role

As a Workplace Health and Safety Manager, you'll play a critical role in driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. Your primary responsibility will be to manage your team, collaborate with other teams, and provide guidance on health and safety projects and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead your team in implementing health and safety standards, improving functionality, and enhancing efficiency.
  2. Analyze data reports and root causes to inform leadership decisions on safety-related matters.
  3. Develop and implement health and safety projects and policies, ensuring compliance with local legislation.
  4. Drive programs to improve the safety culture within Amazon, fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity.
A Day in the Life

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety culture at one of our sites. You'll manage health and safety standards, improve functionality, and drive process improvements. Your team will rely on you to implement changes in response to employee feedback and seize opportunities to enhance our safety culture. Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing their satisfaction, and supervising their wellbeing and productivity.

Requirements
  1. Education to a degree level and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level.
  2. Relevant experience managing a team and complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
  3. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
  2. Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
  3. Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  4. Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
