Job Summary:

TalentTrade Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Head of Health and Safety to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive health and safety strategy that supports our business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute a Health and Safety Strategy: Create and implement a health and safety strategy that aligns with our business objectives and ensures compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Lead a Health and Safety Team: Lead and mentor a team of health and safety advisors across multiple locations and business entities, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of safety initiatives.
  • Establish Health and Safety Plans: Develop and implement long-term health and safety plans, including budgeting and resource allocation, to ensure adequate compliance across the business.
  • Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure ownership and responsibility for the company's accreditations, specifically to ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management Systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Detailed knowledge and operational experience of ensuring compliance with ISO 18001 / 45001 Health and Safety Management Systems, H&S Legislation, and NEBOSH Diploma, Degree or NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Leadership: Proven background in leading a health and safety team, setting clear objectives aligned to goals, and raising the standards within a team.
  • Communication: Ability to present and communicate information effectively to management and directors.
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK, spending nights away from home from time to time.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Chartered Member of IOSH: Chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
  • Industry Experience: Background in manufacturing, construction, utilities, pump or plant hire.
