Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a dynamic Health and Safety Manager to lead our team in identifying and mitigating health and safety risks across the Council. As the statutory responsible officer, you will be responsible for providing health and safety services to Tees Active, the company that operates the Borough's leisure centres, schools, and academies.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Health and Safety professionals to respond to the Council's existing and emerging health and safety risks. You will also be responsible for providing health and safety services to Tees Active, including the development of solutions to reduce the potential for harm.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with experience in managing health and safety risks. You will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team.
We offer a competitive salary of up to £47,420, 27 days annual leave per year rising to 32 with 5 years service, and a generous Pension Scheme through the LGPS. Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Health and Safety professionals to respond to the Council's existing and emerging health and safety risks
- Provide health and safety services to Tees Active, including the development of solutions to reduce the potential for harm
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
