Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Chemistry department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic services to patients and clinicians across the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw region.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in biomedical sciences and a passion for delivering excellent patient care. You will be expected to participate in all aspects of analytical work, adhering to the 'Standards of Proficiency' as defined by the Health and Care Professions Council. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in all aspects of analytical work, including laboratory testing and quality control
  • Adhere to the 'Standards of Proficiency' as defined by the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Provide high-quality diagnostic services to patients and clinicians
  • Work collaboratively with other laboratory staff to improve and develop working practices
  • Participate in out-of-hours shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, as required
Requirements
  • IBMS accredited BSC in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent
  • Registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining HCPC registration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
