We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Haematology laboratories at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing scientific services to patients, aiding in clinical diagnosis, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality laboratory medicine solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Act as an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist, providing scientific services to patients and participating in the 24/7 out-of-hours rota.
- Perform a wide range of complex analytical procedures, including manual, semi-automated, and automated tests, using scientific knowledge and experience to comment upon and validate results in line with ISO standards.
- Be responsible for the production of accurate and timely laboratory investigations, adhering to all Trust and Departmental Policies.
- Assist in maintaining high scientific and technical standards, promoting and maintaining a high standard of relevant education and training.
- Contribute to planned Research and Development, stimulating and taking part in scientific and technical research and development.

Requirements- BSc in Biomedical Sciences or other IBMS-accredited degree.
- Registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist.
- Specialist Portfolio or old HPC Logbook, or evidence of significant post-registration experience.
Candidates must be prepared to work flexibly within a 24/7 service framework as part of a rota and at either site (NHG/RHH). Effective oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as accuracy, methodical approach, hand-eye coordination, team working ability, effective time management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize work, work in an organized manner, and be a team worker or work alone.
