About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist to join our Gastroenterology team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing expert pharmacy input to our Gastroenterology team, supporting the prescribing and monitoring of biologic medicines, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist pharmacy input to the Gastroenterology team, including the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Support the prescribing and monitoring of biologic medicines, including the management of adverse reactions and interactions.
  • Contribute to the development of our Gastroenterology services, including the design and delivery of educational programs for healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways for patients with gastroenterological conditions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacist.
  • Postgraduate qualification in pharmacy or a related field (e.g., MSc, PG Dip).
  • Proven experience in a specialist pharmacy role, preferably in Gastroenterology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
