About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist to join our Gastroenterology team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing expert pharmacy input to our Gastroenterology team, supporting the prescribing and monitoring of biologic medicines, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist pharmacy input to the Gastroenterology team, including the prescribing and monitoring of biologic medicines.
  • Work closely with Consultants, ACP Pharmacists, and Specialist Nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of our Gastroenterology services, including the design and implementation of new treatments and therapies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of Gastroenterology pharmacy.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacist.
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting, preferably in Gastroenterology.
  • Strong knowledge of biologic medicines and their use in Gastroenterology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient care and safety.
