Senior Animator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Animator to join our team at Dovetail Games. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animations for our games, working closely with designers, programmers, and other departments to bring our vision to life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce animations that meet our high-quality standards, interpreting the intention of the production/design team and art leads.
  • Develop and maintain animation libraries, ensuring efficient and effective use of assets.
  • Collaborate with designers, programmers, and other departments to realize gameplay to a high quality.
  • Estimate and manage time to meet deadlines, owning an animation set and contributing creative solutions to gameplay problems.
  • Develop and evolve pipelines for efficiently getting animation from 3D tools into the UE4 engine, continuously improving character rigs and pipelines.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in the games industry as an Animator, with a drive and passion to progress your career.
  • Understanding of rigging and animation transfer pipelines.
  • Knowledge of advanced skeleton and Maya.
  • Strong traditional animation skills and ability to demonstrate knowledge.
  • Desirable: knowledge and practical use of UE4, UE4 Blueprints, State machines, and Blendspaces.

We are looking for an experienced Animator with technical ability, to work on our existing titles and planned upcoming projects. A successful candidate should have a great understanding of the fundamentals of animation and how they relate to game animation and the ability to implement animations in the Unreal 4 & 5 Editor.

Leading and working with the character and animation team, you'll be integral to the vision of our games, bringing characters into our world that helps immerse our players in their experience, shaping the simulations to satisfy our high-quality requirements.
