Job Title: Archaeological Site Monitor

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Archaeological Site Monitor to join our team in the Midlands and East of England region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the condition of our archaeological sites across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely with regional archaeologists to recruit, train, and support teams of volunteers carrying out site monitoring and conservation work.
* Manage and update the Historic Buildings Sites and Monuments Record (HBSMR) to produce maps and documentation suitable for volunteer use.
* Analyze and prioritize data resulting from site monitoring work.
* Support volunteer recruitment and liaison with property teams.
* Communicate the value of our work to a wider audience through webinars, newsletters, and updates.

Requirements:

* Good knowledge and experience using GIS and databases such as HBSMR and HER.
* Experience working with volunteers and managing projects.
* Knowledge and understanding of landscape archaeology.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
