Automotive Accounts Payable Specialist

About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our fast-paced finance team at GSF Car Parts, one of the UK's leading automotive parts distributors. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to the Head of Accounts Payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and invoices.
Main Responsibilities:
- Process high volumes of stock invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
- Verify and review incoming invoices and credit notes for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Code and process non-stock (opex) invoices into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies efficiently and effectively.
- Reconcile supplier statements monthly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including online filing of invoices and credit notes.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing and reconciling accounts payable reports and statements.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess excellent Excel skills, with experience in using various formulas, pivot tables, and macros. A background in Excel and report running is highly desirable.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a multi-site organization.
- Accounts Payable experience.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high-volume invoices.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good organization skills.
- Knowledge of MAM and MS Office is helpful but not essential.
