Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Administrator to join our team in the Trauma and Orthopaedic department at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

As a key member of our administrative team, you will play a vital role in supporting the consultants and clinical teams with office administration tasks. Your primary responsibility will be to provide an effective administrative secretarial service, ensuring continuity of service during consultant absences.

You will be the first point of contact for all communications between the Consultant, patients, relatives, hospital staff, General Practitioners, and outside agencies. You will use your judgement to assess the priority of content and determine the appropriate course of action for the consultants/clinical teams attention.

Your duties will include transcribing correspondence by touch typing from audio/digital dictation or shorthand using knowledge of medical terminology, generating routine and non-routine correspondence independently, and assisting patients and their carers by arranging translation/interpretation facilities.

In addition, you will maintain knowledge and understanding of Trust RTT policy, update RTT in accordance with Trust guidelines, and ensure accurate patient pathways. You will also assist the Administration and Clerical team with data management utilising PAS and other departmental patient databases.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure. You will be expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of your work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity, and if you are looking for a new challenge working within a dynamic department, we encourage you to apply.
