About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our finance team at Ocado Retail Ltd as a Strategic Commercial Finance Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of our Supplier Funding Transformation changes. Reporting to our Senior Finance Manager for Commercial Strategy, you will work closely with key stakeholders across our commercial and finance leadership teams to revolutionise our JBP process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with key stakeholders to revolutionise our JBP process, ensuring its fit for purpose in the fast-paced grocery retail environment.
  • Manage the implementation of key projects across our Supplier Funding process for FY25, including the roll out of new tools, reporting, and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure that new processes and tools are utilised to strengthen existing financial controls for commercial income, ensuring accurate accounting and GSCOP compliance.
  • Transform and standardise documentation for negotiated contracts, identifying best practice and ensuring consistency in record keeping across all PODs and systems.
  • Work alongside data & insights colleagues to automate documents and reporting, enabling faster evaluations and decision-making.
  • Support in sensitivity analysis and forecasting of JBPs, ensuring changes to pricing/promotions/mix by department & category are understood, and forecasting can be more fluid.
  • Support Finance Business Partners with insightful data to ensure buying plans are evaluated, with clear actions proposed to improve performance where appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of JBP negotiations and analysis to CEO/CFO/CCO as part of monthly Business Performance Reviews.

About You
  • Qualified accountant with 3+ years post-qualified experience, with strong academics.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail that is deadline-focused and goal-oriented.
  • Enthusiastic to learn.
  • Experience of grocery retail/FMCG, especially supplier negotiations, is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal & external to the business.
  • A proactive and individual that is passionate about driving change and maximising opportunities.
  • An organised individual that is able to function in a team environment.
