About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team at Ocado Retail Limited. As a key member of our Commercial Finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Fresh team and providing financial expertise to drive profitable growth for our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Fresh team to support leadership decision-making and identify business opportunities to create value
  • Provide regular, robust, and insightful reporting on trade performance, including mix vs rate analysis and brand performance
  • Make complex financial scenarios easy to understand for non-financial colleagues
  • Work closely with data insight colleagues to cut through data and enable better commercial decision-making
  • Support the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts
  • Play a key role in developing and following up on 'gap closing' activities to ensure performance is delivered in line with expectations
  • Support in annual business plans with suppliers to negotiate the best deal for Ocado Retail
  • Own the forecasting process for your category, making forecasting accuracy improvements and enabling key trade drivers to be understood
  • Month-end support by providing the central team with accruals and accurate supplier income forecast
  • Identify and implement improvements to ways of working within the Commercial Finance team
  • Evaluate and challenge new product launches, promotional activities, and business proposals to ensure profitability
  • Participate in cross-functional project groups
  • Provide ad-hoc finance support
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant with 2+ years of post-qualified experience and strong academics
  • Previous grocery or FMCG experience is desirable
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, ability to articulate financial data in a clear and transparent way
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in building financial models
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail
  • Deadline-focused and goal-oriented
  • Enthusiastic to learn
