Job Description

Themis Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Debt Recovery Specialist to join our team as a Debt Recovery Officer. The ideal candidate will have experience in issuing Part 8 Proceedings and Court Applications within a volume solicitor practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Credit Control and Enforcement: Manage and negotiate associated legal fees and expenses, ensuring timely and effective debt recovery.
  • Legal Applications: Issue Part 8 proceedings and make necessary applications, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Documentation and Liaison: Prepare N260 schedules accurately and coordinate with external enforcement officers and bailiffs to ensure smooth debt recovery processes.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any ad hoc or additional duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to debt recovery.

  • Expertise: Knowledge and experience in debt recovery enforcement proceedings, with a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Professionalism: Robust, determined, and resolute, with a professional and polite demeanor, even in challenging situations.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain composed under pressure and not take things personally, maintaining a calm and professional attitude in high-stress situations.
  • Negotiation and Communication: Confident negotiator with excellent communication skills, both on the phone and via email, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Deadline Management: Ability to work efficiently to deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on meeting targets and delivering results.
  • Technical Skills: IT literate with knowledge or experience of a case management system, such as Proclaim, being advantageous but not essential.
  • Commercial Perspective: Ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues, with a strong understanding of the business implications of debt recovery.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Some knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, with a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulations.
