Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead our freight locomotive retrofit initiative focused on decarbonization and digitalization within the UK rail sector.

About the Role
  • Safety Leadership: Ensure a zero-incident project environment by upholding safety culture.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee work packages, support project goals, and ensure alignment with Management and PM guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective communication between teams, Freight operators, and other key stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and escalate issues where necessary.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Project Delivery Expertise: Proven experience managing full project lifecycle activities and multidisciplinary teams.
  2. Commercial Awareness: Solid understanding of project planning, estimation, financial control, and commercial management.
  3. Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and a collaborative approach to team leadership.
  4. Engineering Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or relevant experience); a second degree in management is advantageous.
  5. Rail Industry Experience: Background in rolling stock engineering, especially in ETCS or CBTC systems, is highly desirable.

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a skilled Project Manager to contribute to innovative digital railway projects.
