Job Summary

As a key member of the Trust's leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the medical workforce, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the Trust's vision of being a national and international leader in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a long-term medical leadership, engagement, and education workplan that supports the Trust's strategy and objectives.
  • Provide strong and effective medical and clinical leadership and advice to inform corporate decisions.
  • Ensure that the Trust delivers all of its clinical targets, including those connected with clinical indicators, cancer, ED targets, and financial balance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Trust policy, procedures, and practices align with GMC guidance on Duties of a Doctor, Maintaining Good Medical Practice.
  • Establish and maintain regular and effective communication with the medical workforce to ensure a corporate approach to the development of medical policy and clinical protocols.
