Job Summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking an exceptional medical leader to join its executive team as Chief Medical Officer. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the Trust's strategy and driving improvement in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong and effective medical leadership and advice to inform corporate decisions.
  • Ensure that the Trust delivers all of its clinical targets, including those connected with clinical indicators, cancer, and ED targets.
  • Lead the development of a long-term medical leadership, engagement, and education workplan that supports the Trust's strategy and objectives.
  • Ensure that Trust policy, procedures, and practices align with GMC guidance on 'Duties of a Doctor', 'Maintaining Good Medical Practice', and 'Maintaining High Professional Standards'.
  • Act as the Trust's Caldicott Guardian and Responsible Officer, ensuring that the required standards of confidentiality and information sharing are adhered to.
  • Provide credible and visible leadership in managing a wide portfolio of Medical Education, Research & Development, Quality, and Innovation.
