About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Administrative Support Professional to join our team in the Bladder and Bowel Service at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to provide comprehensive administrative support to our clinical team, ensuring the smooth running of the service.

As an Administrative Support Professional, you will be responsible for managing office systems, coordinating meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and resolving queries efficiently.

About the Team

You will be working as part of a dynamic team within the Bladder and Bowel Service, which provides specialist nursing assessment, treatment, and management services for individuals with bladder and bowel incontinence and chronic conditions.

The service works closely with other community nursing disciplines and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients across East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the clinical team, including managing office systems, coordinating meetings, and taking minutes.
  • Manage patient bookings, appointments, and follow-ups using electronic systems such as EMIS.
  • Be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and resolving queries efficiently.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the department, liaising with clinical staff and other teams as required.
Requirements
  • GCSE in English and Maths at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
  • NVQ 3 / RSA II or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.
  • ECDL or equivalent IT qualification.
  • Significant and recent experience in a similar role undertaking secretarial/administrative and reception duties.
  • Able to manage own workload and office systems, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively as part of a team.
