Job Overview

The Member Relationship Advisor earns a competitive $54,000 - $64,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, a flexible spending account (FSA), a 401(k) plan with company match, life insurance, an interest rate reduction on loans, and employee discounts.



Job Description

This role involves generating new accounts and loans by assisting potential and existing members with their deposit and lending needs. Responsibilities include:



  • Utilizing data sources and other available resources to generate new loans and new accounts.
  • Achieving or exceeding minimum established individual loan volume and sales goals each month.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of all lending products and rates within the credit union.
  • Responding to member inquiries concerning loans.
  • Completing regular outbound calls to generate new business.
  • Reviewing and evaluating information on loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet credit union and regulatory standards.
  • Communicating preliminary loan decision to all involved parties in a timely manner.
  • Communicating final loan approval or rejection to members.
  • Structuring loan applications for most favorable loan decision.
  • Promoting the credit union's lending program externally.
  • Continually identifying; developing and maintaining a quality network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals.
  • Explaining the credit union's electronic services such as SUNNY, Online Banking, Bill Pay services, and Mobile Banking.
  • Answering members' questions and solving members' problems involving loan accounts and products.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
  • Explaining current promotions of all products; calculating loan payments.
  • Responsible for completing new accounts accurately.
  • Successfully demonstrating effective selling skills and behaviors.
  • Exhibiting a thorough knowledge of credit union products and services sold.
  • Completing the expected level of product certifications and training.
  • Maintaining accurate sales records.
  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of Credit Unions and the Credit Union Movement, Credit Union organizational values, products and services, mission statement, and vision statement.
  • Cross-selling members on all credit union products and services and referring members to Sun East Retirement & Investment Services (SERIS) when appropriate.
  • Ensuring all loan applications are completed in compliance with lending policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Responsible for scanning all new account and existing member account files and documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the Mobile Branch at Community Events, SEG visits, and other events, as needed.
  • Becoming a member of a local network.
