Position Overview

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is recognized for its exceptional standards in neonatal healthcare. We provide comprehensive Level 3 care across the Greater Manchester area, offering a unique environment for professional growth in neonatal medicine and surgical practices.

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a dedicated neonatal nurse to join our innovative Connect NW Neonatal Transport Service, which caters to the needs of the North West region. In this role, you will exemplify the highest standards of care for patients and their families, continuously striving for excellence in all aspects of your work. You will have ample opportunities for professional development, including enhancing your leadership and clinical skills, while playing a vital role in delivering high-quality care during patient transport.

Key Responsibilities

As a Neonatal Transport Nurse, you will be responsible for conducting both emergency and planned neonatal transfers as part of a multidisciplinary team, which includes Medical, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (ANNP), nursing staff, and ambulance personnel. Based at our newly established operational center, you will not only provide expert neonatal nursing care but also adopt a proactive and adaptable approach to drive improvements within the service.

To excel in this position, you should possess a strong background in neonatal intensive care, along with a mentoring qualification and a high level of clinical proficiency. You will be expected to manage your own workload effectively while supervising others, demonstrating flexibility and strong communication skills.

This position is available on either a part-time or full-time basis within the Neonatal Transport Service.
