About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Documentation Officer to join our team at the Science Museum Group's National Collections Centre. As a key member of our Documentation team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our collections data.

As a Documentation Officer, you will be responsible for championing our cataloguing and documentation standards, working with diverse collections data across the organisation. You will use your data skills to support the Conservation team in building and improving the information we hold and share about our collections.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a world-class museum group, developing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will have the chance to work on a project that aims to develop a comprehensive hazardous materials library and dataset, which can be shared with the wider sector.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have some experience of museum documentation and cataloguing, as well as an interest in developing data management skills. You will have experience of handling museum collections, including an awareness of basic collections care. You will also have good IT skills, data skills, and the ability to work with a Collections Management System.
