Position Overview

In partnership with law enforcement, you will operate within custody suites, providing essential healthcare services to individuals in detention. Our commitment is to ensure the wellbeing of detainees through continuous healthcare support, adhering to a schedule coordinated with our client.

  • Annual Salary: £40,000
  • Bonus: £1,000 upon completion of 12 months of service
  • Full-time: Fixed shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off, with day shifts from 06:45 to 19:00 and night shifts from 18:45 to 07:00. A rolling rota is available for 2 years ahead.
  • Part-time: Fixed shift pattern with day shifts from 06:45 to 19:00 and night shifts from 18:45 to 07:00, working 2 day shifts followed by 8 days off, then 2 night shifts, and 4 days off. A rolling rota is available for 2 years ahead.
  • Estimated Average Overtime: £3,500 per year
  • NMC/HCPC Registration costs covered

Main Responsibilities

As a qualified nurse or paramedic, you will have the opportunity to work within the criminal justice system, supporting some of the most vulnerable members of society. No prior forensic experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided.

This role requires adaptability to work not only in your designated custody suite but also across various locations within the assigned police custody suites and force area.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN, RGN) or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN with dual registration) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience at Band 5
  • Paramedic with at least 2 years post-qualification experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant patient-facing experience in fields such as General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk-in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Services
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Eligibility to work in the UK, with residency in the UK for at least 3 years, and no gaps of more than 3 months outside the country
  • All candidates will undergo Police Vetting
