Traffic Management Specialist - 12d/Unit 2 Certification

General working hours are 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime. Shifts typically occur during the day, but you may also be required to work evenings, nights, and weekends. Being on the on-call rota is expected, especially if you have access to a company vehicle.

Chevron Traffic Management is dedicated to establishing temporary road or lane closures, diversion routes, or pedestrian pathways to ensure the safety of road workers and users during construction activities. This includes deploying road cones, signage, temporary traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Key Responsibilities of a 12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Specialist:

The 12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Specialist plays a crucial role in our operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting traffic counts, communicating with clients and subcontractors, and documenting timings and near misses.
  • Maintaining temporary traffic signals.
  • Installing, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic management equipment, including cones, signs, frames, sandbags, and other tools.
  • Assisting and mentoring new trainees.

Qualifications for a 12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Specialist:

  • SLG Unit 2 or M1/M2 certification as a minimum requirement.
  • 12d Lantra qualification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations.
  • A valid driving license with no more than 6 points; any driving bans must have been expired for at least 5 years.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test; your offer will depend on the outcome.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
