About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled ACCA Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will assist both the Direct Operating Costs and Revenue teams with GL accounting, controls operation, and audit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with financial accounting processes and reconciliations, including revenues, taxes, global operating, and overhead costs
  • Delivering accurate, reliable, and timely books of account for the VAL Group and its subsidiaries
  • Overseeing the operation of IFRS compliant accounting
  • Ensuring processes are performed without issue each month end
  • Ensuring revenue recognition is accurate, and that accruals, reconciliations, and any necessary releases are performed on a timely basis
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As our ACCA Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Completing the transfer of accounting transactions data into Oracle from underlying systems
  • Ensuring all revenues, taxes, and DOCs are captured and complete, reflecting all flights/movements in the period
  • Accurate posting of all journals, including taxes, billing rejections, forward commissions, and waivers
  • Delivering timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliation schedules to meet all statutory, regulatory, shareholder, and management reporting requirements
  • Monitoring and highlighting instances of under/over provisioning in a timely manner
  • Supporting the maintenance/integrity of mapping tables within underlying systems and feed into Oracle
  • Playing an active role in the ongoing development of a best-in-class finance function, with particular focus on revenue, tax, accruals, prepayments, and overhead processes
  • Reviewing and challenging calculations and output from systems to ensure completeness and accounting accuracy
  • Closing promptly at month end, in accordance with internal timetables, and ensuring all expenses are correctly recorded
  • Being the primary point of contact for queries, including audit queries, on the posting of actual results
  • Working with Accounts Payable to ensure invoices received can be reconciled back to accruals made
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with a successful close-out of the external interim and full-year audit
About You

We are looking for a strong communicator with experience in a finance-related role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum part-qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Strong MS Office and Excel skills
  • Strong system skills, particularly Oracle Financials
  • Inquisitive with the ability to challenge and improve processes
  • Proven capability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to communicate with senior levels of management, explaining complex processes in a succinct way
  • Problem-solving skills within an overall business context
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex processes into clear simple messages
  • High level of analytical skills and financial acumen
