About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious B&I site near Ascot, Berkshire. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating and developing innovative menu offerings that meet company and client requirements.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service are maintained at all times.
  • Monitor and control portion sizes, waste, and inventory levels to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Participate in weekly stock takes and report any issues or discrepancies to the Operations Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of food production activities, supplier information, and kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to design and implement engaging monthly food offers and themes that delight our site associates.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • In the absence of the Head Chef, assume full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the kitchen.
Requirements
  • Strong passion for food, customer service, and culinary innovation.
  • Excellent craft skills, with a background in B&I contract or high street commercial restaurant catering.
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate and strong supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in costing menus, events, and functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
