Position: Senior Policy and Commercial Strategy Manager

Location: London

Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with 2 days in the office.

Compensation: Up to £55,000

We are in search of a professional with a solid background in policy and regulatory frameworks, particularly with expertise in Capacity Markets. This pivotal position will involve engaging with key stakeholders focused on decarbonization efforts.

This role will report to the Senior Policy and Commercial Manager within the Policy and Regulations division, which is integral to the execution of the organization's strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the broader team and organization, concentrating primarily on the Capacity Market initiative through policy analysis, position development, and stakeholder interaction across various governmental bodies, trade associations, and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture external relationships with government entities, industry leaders, and other influential figures in relevant Net Zero sectors;
  • Prepare senior management and executives for their external engagements;
  • Advocate for policy engagement related to existing and prospective schemes;
  • Analyze the commercial implications of risks and opportunities concerning industry interactions with our initiatives;
  • Conduct thorough assessments of policy areas that may affect consumers and the industry;
  • Develop contractual modifications to adapt schemes in line with industry advancements;
  • Create clear and substantiated briefings, position documents, and insights for internal communication;
  • Simplify and effectively communicate complex information to the organization;
  • Identify and generate analyses and insights that will facilitate the company's strategy to expedite the achievement of Net Zero.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Policy and Regulation capacity;
  • In-depth knowledge of the Capacity Market framework;
  • Proven ability to foster positive working relationships across various teams and organizations.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing projects with appropriate oversight and governance;
  • Understanding of the UK's energy sector and the evolving policy landscape;
  • Ability to produce comprehensive reports and presentations to convey findings effectively;
  • Familiarity with Carbon Capture, Nuclear, Hydrogen, and storage technologies;
  • Experience in client-facing roles or consultancy;
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills with the capability to analyze relevant data for informed decision-making;
  • Experience in developing and implementing cost-benefit analyses and impact assessments.
